My new rear reverse light helpers.

They are just okay, not real bright but they help a little.

Wow very low profile, took me a second to find them. Any night pictures?

I dont think these lights are meant to be reverse lights.

You are right, I don't really know what they are suppose to be other than something costing $25. They are not driving lights either, unless maybe on a kids Big Wheel. LOL

They're meant to be DRLs. They're not going to be very bright, maybe 200 lumens each. You should have used that $25 to buy halogen fog lamps.

The reason I went with them was that I could just tap them into the reverse light and not worry about drawing too much current. They help a good amount over the factory reverse light, I will try to post some video latter.

What I really want is to wire in some really bright rear facing lights on a separate circuit. Maybe a pair of Rigidindustries 6' or 10' single row LED bars mounted below the bumper. I really wish I had them installed already, I was worried about an incident that happened to my wife and I last week while on vacation. I was followed for about 15 minutes by someone and had I had some bright lights I could have lit them up. All I could tell 911 was that it was a dark sedan, some bright lights would have been nice to have then.

Haha yeah, it looks sick on your truck though! Did you want more light output when in reverse mode or just want to add more style to your truck?

I was hoping to get a little more light and not have too much hanging under my bumper. I just made a video a little bit ago and will work on uploading it.

Looks good man! I am going to do a set of reverse lights to help increase night vision when in reverse mode too but that's down the road though.

Do you know what the AMP draw is on them.

I did an experiment with the Truck-Lite 54 diode backup lamps a while back to see what the factory circuit could do.

These are 1 A each, the test was to add 1 to the circuit, and I found it would not illuminate at full brightness.

The SWAG, the circuit size for the reverse lamp is good enough for the 2 x 26W bulbs that are on there ( 52W total or ~4 A ) and that was about it.

Don't know if you checked on wired as normal ( larger AWG circuit size ) to compare to the one on the reverse circuit.

If they are 1 A total, it is kind of a bad test, as it might work OK with 0.5 A ( I did not have a 26 diode reverse lamp to try this with ).

You have the 7 pin trailer tow adapter, why not just use this as the reverse circuit. It will handle 5A without an issue ( which should be more than you need for those lamps )
