Adding auto lights

Fellas
Ive been searching for a thread about what is require to add auto lights on a 2000. I had auto lights on my old Aero and they were great. I know I have to add the new switch, electric eye. Anyone knoe if they are wired for just plug in?

You want your lights to automatically turn on when you start the truck? You could just add a relay the switches on when the truck turns on so tap off something like the radio and then provides a 12v source to the headlights. So basically every time you turn on the truck the lights will come on, but also when the truck is off you'll still be able to switch them on with the factory switch.

^^ Unless it was an OEM part, that sounds like your best plan.

I think the op wants the oem style of auto lights......they come on when the eye on the dash detects its dark enough out......when the switch is in the auto position....

I didn't even know we had that option on our bodystyle. But in that case you'd need to get a new headlight switch and the ambient light eye like 88racing said. I don't really know about the wiring though, maybe Raptor could help you out there. The way I described would have them work as drl's.

I did find a thread on the 09-11 bodystyle where someone added them and they said it was all plug and play, so knowing ford it will probably be for you too.

I know the parts I will require, I like to know, if they are pre wired? I also found it for a 09-11. But for a 97-2003?

If it was available on our body style as a upgrade option then yea the chances are pretty high it's pre-wired. Ford did a lot of things this way, everything came wired but they only put in the optional pieces.

Found out it's plug and play. All prewired.
