LED DRLs Installed

First off, many thanks to SCULLY for providing me invaluable info for obtaining power off the towing harness.

I purchased a 3' strip of natural white LEDs from superbrightleds.com and mounted to the top edge of the plastic faring under the bumper. I had to drill two 3/16" holes for the wires, but the light strips just stick-on (They seem pretty secure, so hopefully they stay on for a while.) I tapped into the orange wire in the aforementioned towing harness and ran the power lead under the airbox and down behind the driver's side headlight to each strip.

Right now, they're on when the ignition is on, but I'll add a switch in the cabin and a relay to turn them off when the headlights are on. (I didn't want to add too many components at once because troubleshooting would've been more difficult.)

So here they are. Let me know what you think!

And with the LEDs off. In hindsight, I should've wrapped the exposed leads in black electrical tape. But they're so low on the front end that they're difficult to see when walking by - and nearly impossible to see when the LEDs are on.

Imo they would look cleaner installed inside the headlights.

That was my first thought, but I'm too chicken-***** to try opening the headlights. I like how they turned out because they are visible, yet not so high as to shine into oncoming traffic and those in front of me.

looks good. I was hoping they would be in their own housing with some optics.

Mine me asking how much you paid?

I like the idea and how they turned out. Even though it's not my money or truck, i would have put them in-between the bumper and painted plastic piece above the bumper

The 3' strip of LEDs was $25. $6 for an add-a-fuse. $3 for wire. I bought the relay and switch for step2 at $5 each, so all told, about $45.

That was my first thought too, but I thought they were set too far back to be seen.

Thanks for the kind words, everyone!
