I just finished putting some matchboxes into the fog lights and MH1's in the headlamps, 09 body style. If your headlight HID puts out any amount of foreground light, as Raptor says, I can't even tell when they are on. And when on individually, I'm less than impressed. I still need to aim them better, but can't use the truck's vertical adjustment with the projectors sticking so far back.

I might not get to readjusting them until this weekend - as you can see my hopes are limited. I might just swap them out with 3000K lights to be more of a appearance thing than anything.

That's what I have in my fogs now (the 3000K) and been very happy with them, one suggestion though. Get your bulbs here and get them capped, this avoids much of the 'out front' glare http://www.retrosolutionsllc.com/ser...OAT-CAP/Detail

I made some small height adjustments but need to grind some support bracket on the truck to gain more clearance.

So there does look like they will work out pretty decent.

Looks good. The fogs look like their width is greatly diminished by the fact that they are recessed so far in the bumper. This causes the light projected to the side to be blocked by the bumper itself.

wow that looks great

NICE! Looks good, but I thought the output would have been a bit better though. Do you have a cutoff with them, or are they just to low pointed at the ground? Any pictures of the back adjustment screw? I thought there wouldn't have been a problem with it. I'm still busy with work, so I haven't made any progress on mine yet.

Hey first thx for making this thread - would have never bought them otherwise. There isn't enough room for them to go any higher, the projector interferes with part of the fog lamp bumper insert. I think once I get them higher, output will be better. This weekend I'll be doing some cutting so I can raise them higher and should be able to see the cut-off line. I can see them if I'm up right next to the wall.

And when done, I won't be using the screw/spring for height adjustment. There isn't enough adjustment with the spring provided. Even when stock there was barely enough adjustment. They will be held with some RTV.

Got home tonight driving home in the rain and driver's side has alot of water in it. Not sure where it came in but pulled the lens off and must have used 1/2 tube of RTV to re-seal. Will see how they work tomorrow.

How did you get the shroud to fit? I've got the holes cut for my projectors but the shroud sticks out about 1/8" too far.

Stormsearch 09-25-2011 01:34 PM

You have to cut the inner part of the shroud so they fit as deep as possible before bottoming out on the HID reflector. My projector lens actually sticks out past the shroud and is only about 1/8" from the lens.

Ok, I figured that's what I had to do. Thanks.

And what size halo does it take? I ordered 70mm and they're a little big, but I'm worried 60mm would be too small

powerz69 09-25-2011 11:36 PM

I had to trim a bit off the face of the bowl to get the shroud down far enough. I used a 70mm halo. It does feel a bit too big, but just place it in and it will be fine. Don't push it further then it wants to go cause it will very easily break.

I broke one of mine also! The guy I talked to at TRS Informed me that they get 3-4 calls a day on reorders for people that broke their halos. So don't feel bad, now your just another stat.
