Bulb question
Bulb question
I am running a slightly smoked head light housing.
Running piaa extreme bulbs.
Looking for a bulb that will give me a little more light output
Don't have the money to do hid's right so.
My truck does have a wiring harness with two relays run from battery to
Headlights. Does this mean I can run higher watt bulbs?
Any way any thoughts would be nice.

x2 on what Daniel said, I only spent four hours compiling all the info.
I don't understand, you want more light output but have smoked heads, why? Get rid of those, they are going to cut down about 30% of your VLT, no matter what kind of bulbs you have. And yes, but I wouldn't advise it unless your headlights are built to withstand the excessive heat. And higher wattage bulbs have a drastically short life span. The harness is made to provide more amperage/voltage to the bulbs by reducing voltage drop loss. PIAAs are good offroad lights. Can you link to the kind you have? If they have a blue coating, you are also losing light with that. Be advised some PIAAs do NOT meet DOT specs, so you run the potential of melting/burning stuff.
tl;dr- Get rid of smoked heads. Switch to DOT-applicable bulbs.

Well duh if I get rid od the smoked lights that will help.
But I am usin them because I like they way they look.
The question was what bulbs can I use to get more output to
Make up for the smoked heads not get clear heads I have them.

There aren't any magic bulbs that put out enormous amounts of light. Governing laws limit bulb manufacturers as to how much light they can put out to a certain extent. PIAAs, Hellas, Sylvanias, Osrams, GEs- if its a same type of bulb, they're all going to put out within ~150 lumens of each other and that's not much of a discernible difference.
In short- You can have cool looking headlights during the day and crappy lights at night or vice versa. You cannot have both. So pick one.
