Too Many Lights?

I'd like to mount four (4) 6" Hella 500 Series 55 watt driving lights behind the grill of my '07 F150. I've read about others who've done it, BUT---does installing 4 of them block enough airflow to the radiator to cause the engine to overheat or run hot?

I highly doubt that's gonna cause an issue.

The radiator doesn't get all of its air from just the grille. Air will flow up from the lower opening in the bumper and from underneath.

It takes A LOT to cut off enough airflow to cause any issues.

x2. Your stock fan pulls over 6000CFMs. At ~20 mph, ram air effect is greater than what the fan will pull. You wouls have to stick a piece of cardboard in front of the radiator and idle for ~15 mins before you started to overheat. Ask me how I know.

Four of them will get a bit crowded, but that should be your only problem. Just make sure you build a beefy enough bracket because four lights will want to shake things pretty well. You can see how I did it on my (former) 2005 in my sig.

I would go with 2 to be honest cause there bright as hell. I have 2 behind my grill and had HIDs put in them, heres a picture.

It depends on what you want I like 4 lights I have 2 behind my grill and 2 mounted on my bull bar and it is perfect lights up the entire road for a long ways. 4 behind the grill will look pretty stuffed though and unless you get a billet grill it wont look right....

Or you could do like me and weld a light bar. The beam and light distribution of the light bar is much better than the grille mount.

no, a piece of cardboard deflecting air from the radiator is to warm it up. My trucks thermostat failed and it wouldnt keep closed loop so I had to improvise until I could fix it. It takes quite a while to get these trucks to overheat while idling
