I am interested in getting a pair of 6" off road lights installed on my brush guard. I wanted to know if they have to be turned on and off independently or is there a way to wire them that when you turn on your headlights that they automatically come on? Also are there any regulations/laws as far as using those lights during normal street driving? All inputs appreciated.

any offroad light is off road use only. Non-DOT approved .... but to get them to turn on with your heads, you have to find a hot lead that is when you headlights are on ... you can piggy back off the hot low beam feed at the bulb harness or if you want them on with the highs piggy back the hot lead for the highs

I'd run a relay setup for minimum voltage drop.
Again, it would be illegal and dangerous to do so, or you could wire them to your high beams (when there is no traffic).

Check local laws. Otherwise get a relay. I've got mine set to a separate switch AND to come on with high beams, but AK doesn't have that many issues with how many lights

Wire them to a separate switch. That way you can have them on when you need them and you won't get in trouble with the law.
