A/C Clunk when turned on
A/C Clunk when turned on
Heyo,
My A/C clunks like a mother when i first turn it on after starting the truck. I'm presuming that it's the wheel/pulley that is on the serpentine belt and it needs something. Or maybe the belt needs to be replaced (it looks to be in great condition).
Anyone had this? and successfully lubed something to make it run smoother/quieter?
TIA.

If it only clunks after its been off, overnight or longer, there were some posts last year about this. The general consensus was, as I recall that it was oil that had settled at the bottom of the compressor, and caused no harm. Mine will do the same after it has not been started for at least several days, its a 99 and still working ok.
Anyone remember more about this?

Yup, it's after the truck sits for a while. I don't drive my truck during the week very much in summer. I've tried to search the boards, but a/c is too short a string for it to be found, and clunk, is rather popular.
