Smell???

This time of year is hard keeping the Temp right, The mornings you need the heater and afternoons you need the AC. Do you smell a strange smell when swithcing back and forth?

Yea, it's mildew. I read a service bullitin on it a while back. They said to run your outside air vent to "flush out the smell and dry out the ducts."

Every 6 mos. or so, I set the control to "A/C" anf the fan on HI, temp blend in the middle & spray Lysol over the cowling (just in front of the windsheild, on the OUTSIDE of the truck). This is where the outside air is drawn into the truck's HVAC. I'll spray enough to get rid of the moldy smell, then just a little more. I let the system run for ~5-10 minutes. Usually after an hour sitting (truck not running) the Lysol and the mold smell are gone, particularly with the windows open.

your owner's guide will help you on this. i think it read's. when you let the truck sit. to put it in any mode but a\c or off. it let's the plentiumn breath and help stop the smell. it's like putting wet sock's in the hamper for a few day's. it get's ugly in there. it just open's the plentiumn to the out side air to dry.
