Intermittent AC in park, or idle
I have combed through the forums looking for similar problems but have come up with nothing...
2007 5.4, troyer fans...
First off, troyer high side fan does not engage any more when the AC is on. Going to see if it is the controller tomorrow...
Main problem, when truck is in park or drive at idle, the AC compressor will just turn off and the truck blows hot air. I left the truck in park and popped the hood with the AC on, and the compressor clutch engages and blows cold air, but turns off after about 5-7 seconds. It will do this over and over again, doesnt matter if the truck is at operating temp or if it is cold. However, if I am driving, the AC works like a champ.
When it does mess up, and the compressor is doing its on off thing, when it comes on the motor bogs down pretty bad, almost to the point of stalling...
I haven't dug around too much yet, and to be honest, I have a sneaking suspicion that it have something to do with the troyer fan controller... ... ...
Anyone have an idea before i start ripping things apart? Any ideas as to where to start would be awesome.

If the fan isn't working to push/pull air through the condenser when you're not moving, the head pressure will max out and the high pressure cutout switch will kill the compressor until the pressure drops.
Yes, fix the fan.
Yes, fix the fan.
Cool, thanks for the info guys. Guess I will have to call Troyer AGAIN about getting yet another controller... not even one month and I have gone through 2 controllers... sad face...
