99 ford no heat at all, help...
good morning, and happy holidays.
i went out to gather some things for the holidays. when in the middle of my trip the heater blower quit working. well i switched all the speeds and vent possision switches, but nothing, it just quit. so i finshed up my shopping, having to clear the ice and fog inside the truck from the cold with a scraper and t shift i had. no fun at all. Get home and still nothing. I ve used the search function and searched the web, to no avail.
I'm not sure what to check, i removed the cd player to get access to the heater controlls, un/repluged them no help. checked for power with key on, nothing on the speed side. I also took the heater pannel from my crown vic to try and still nothing, so its not a switch problem. Its like it not getting power to the blower. I ran a set of wires from the battary becuase i want to manualy put power to the blower to make sure is runs. it doesn matter if a do not have speeds of not, as long as the windsheild is clear for winter. But i do not know where to put these wires to do this. any help at all would be great. thanks jon

okay, i did some reasearching about the resistor. didnt take it out yet, way to cold, -30 with windchill here. i ran some new wires from the battary to pluged them into the orange and brown wires, (which i think is positive and ground) directly to give the motor 12v. And nothing happened, i reversed the wire in case. but no luck. I did unplug the resistor as well and it looks like it shorted out, there is black in the inside of the plug on the black wire. which i assume is ground. any help.... as it would be nice to use my truck agian... cheers.
