Temp Control Issue

I have a 2007 F-150 with a temp issue I haven't seen here.

Mine only has 2 settings... all the way hot or all the way cold. There is no inbetween temp. A/C blows cold, Heat blows hot... but I can't select anything else.

Any suggestions? Don't really want to start tearing into the dash without a destination in mind!

Thanks!
Bob

Sounds like the blend door actuator motor issue, it's a common problem with some. It is a tight fit, but can be changed by removing the radio and through the glove box (just unhook it and let it hang down to the floor) Part# 9L3Z-19E616-E. Do a search, I think there was a write-up somewhere on the forum.

Thanks. I was hoping since it does swing from full open to full closed, it wasn't that.

Why can't anything ever be easy!?!

Did a little more digging today. With the fan dead, I can move the temp control from full cold to about the 10:00 position and hear the actuator move with each adjustment. After 10, rotating it clockwise, I get nothing until the full hot position. Then the actuator kicks in and closes the door the rest of the way.

However, moving the **** to 2:00 and then wiggling it, I can hear the actuator start to kick in. At this point it look like a dead temp control.

Then comes the heart failure... what can a control cost right? Try $313 at the local dealer! Seems you have to buy the entire control head!

Guess it's off to the junk yard I go! At least I get to practice removing the panel before tearing mine up!

I was fortunate enough to have mine go bad while still under warranty.

Do you have heated mirrors on your truck ?? If not I have a control head that I replaced when I put headed mirrors in mine (manual controls right?) I'm sure we can come to a fair price if interested.

No heated mirrors or back defrogger either. Sounds like you got the right part!

Lets see what we can do!

Thanks!
