compressor

How do you get the quick connect to release on the accumalater fitting to the indoor coil at the fire wall. Do I need a tool simular to the one used on the high pressure gas line at the filter?
Thanks: Chris

Ok I figured it out. By the way the new accumulator has a plastic cover on the outlet to help keep moisture out. I used it to release the spring lock by cutting off the end and slitting it from one end to the other. Then putting it on the coil side of the pipe and sliding it into the fitting released the spring lock.

This compressor change out is a challenge.
I used a 1/2" ID plastic tube pushed on the condenser coil to flush it out. Just pour some flush into the tube and chase it with air. (make sure you have the other end wrapped in a rag. The OD of this tube fits snug in the tube where the accumulator hooks up, so the same flush can be done there to, make sure you keep pressure on the plastic tubbing so you don't get the flushing liquid in the face. Remove the orifice first(lower line to condenser coil). I'm a little concerned about moisture using compressed air when flushing the system.
nitrogen probably would be better.

The new compressor is a little stiff so it needs a little effort to turn when adding oil.
I still have aways to go to finish.
