heater core parts list
I have a 2000 supercab, got the anti-freeze smell last weekend, hoping it will last another week. Just wondering if it is wise to replace anything else besides the heater core while I'm in the dash? Do I need to buy OEM parts or would discount parts store parts be OK?

If the core is all that is broken there should be no need to replace anything else. You will find that your old core is wrapped in foam. Remove that foam and install it on the new core.
