Nice to know. My 03 F150 with ACC would not blow on high with the AC, but the heat worked fine. Now with my new 08 F150 with ACC, the AC works fine by the heat goes bonkers. It heats fine to start, then after it gets up to temperature, it starts blowing cold air with the fan on high! Sounds like this has been an ongoing problem, but just as I'm ready to call about it, you guys say they have the parts to fix it. I'll look into it.

2008 hvac

My SuperCrew is now fixed. Ford replaced the Climate Control Head, scratched the Dashbpard, got spray paint all over the inside of the car by the windshield, replaced most of the plastic pieces on the dash and created a rattle somewhere under the dash. But the air and heat now work properly.

tmc,
do you know where the blend door is located and how hard it is to get to to change out? I am hoping they dont have to rip my entire dash apart as i dont trust them to put it back togather correctly.

The blend door requires the entire dash to be removed. The actuator referenced in TSB 08-23-06 does not. My actuator was changed in less than 1 hour.

I just ordered the actuator for $25 expected to ship on the 13th. I am going to install it myself. I dont want the dealer monkeying with my dash or AC.

I finally couldn't put up with it anymore and after reading the parts were now available, I took my truck(08 F150 screw) to the shop. I gave them the service bulletin numbers, and they verified the problem. They told me the parts should be in within 2-3 days, and to make another apointment. It would take about an hour to fix. Called back today to make the appointment, and they said there is a problem. They parts aren't available anywhere in the US, and they don't know when they will be available. WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME THAT BEFORE???????? Oh well. I'm on the list and they'll call me when the parts get in.

Ironically, they said the dealer said they hadn't had any other complaints before mine two weeks ago, and they said they've had 3 other trucks in since mine with the same problem. Maybe the cold weather in the north east has got everyone fed up with the heating?

Does anyone have those service bulletin numbers available. Last time I called the dealer, I had to refresh their memories on this problem. I'm surprised at how common is seems on this forum, but that the dealers don't know about it.

Mine is fixed! The dealer had one Blend Door Actuator Assembly in stock, so I ran down there yesterday and dropped off the truck. Got it back today and it works perfect.

The mechanic said that when he had the dash off, he could see that the door wasn't even moving between 60 and 69 degrees. Once the new part was in, it would move a little bit with each degree of temp change.

The service writer said that another truck came in after me for the same problem, and he told them that the part is now on back-order and they probably won't get another one in for about a month.

If anyone needs the TSB/part number info they are:

TSB: 08-23-6
P/N: 9L3Z-19E616-E Actuator - Motor Assy

Thanks for all the help...

Mine is fixed finally. It's a fairly big dealership, and they said mine was the first one they did. They said they had several more that called after me. Odd how they all started popping up just after me. Hope it continues to work well.
