Digital hvac control conversion HELP ?????
I have a 2007 150 FX4. The HVAC controls that it has are the manual ones, with the *****. I was looking on ebay at some digital ones (automatic) Will they plug into my factory harness ??? Any help would be great !!!
This question comes up about once a month. Go to this page, scroll down, & read the article about the swap.

Well for me, I'm a DIY garage type...the article first is on an older model crown vic...not the newer style controls. Second, it's over my head technically.
So, bottom line, it still doesn't answer the question:
Is this possible by a garage home mechanic with limited skills? And if so, can the parts be gotten? And for a 2006 F150, if swapping for the same setup (meaning the truck the digital controls came from has the same AC/mirrors/etc. options as my truck) can the digi controls just be plugged into the same plug that the manual controls plug into or is there more to it than that?

THANK YOU.
I know many of us asking that same question want to know if it's even possible. The more I've read up on it, the more I've seen that there is a LOT more to it than just pulling out the old ones and plugging in the new ones. It's not like a factory radio upgrade to a more featured model (like single CD to 6 CD to Nav) (which in itself may be dumbing the whole process down way more than I can imagine)....LOL.
But bottom line, sounds like it's doable but not for the average DIY'er like me.
