Heater Core Hose
Heater Core Hose
I replaced my heater core last fall with the help of the instructions I got from here. THANKS. I haven't had any problems since then.
Last week I'm driving home from fishing towing my boat, I had to kick it into passing gear and one of the hoses hooked to the core blows off! After we cooled down I was able to snap the hose back on. I thought that was it until now 5 days later, it did it again under normal driving conditions. It looks good to my eye but doesn't seem to snap on tight. Should it? Is there a special reason a guy couldn't just replace the hose and put clamps on it?
Thanks
Len

Restrictor TSB 01-15-6
I'm getting ready to change my leaking heater core, probably replacing the aluminum one with copper/brass. At the same time I'm planning to install the restrictor that mentioned in TSB 01-15-6 (Ford part number F1UZ-18D406-A) and maybe the Blend Air Door (TSB 97-9-17).
The hose connectors are not intended for re-use, so I'd recommend looking for the removal tool and purchasing two of the bagged Ford kits that include the o-rings and white plastic parts.
