Yesterday I was browsing around here looking for clues about how to fix my truck's air conditioning. It is very difficult to get it to change temperatures. I figured it was the blend door failing on me.

Then I stumbled across a thread (can't find it today) where some one posted to check the temperature control ****, as they are know to crack. As soon as I got home from work yesterday I opened up the truck and pulled of the ****. Sure enough, it is cracked so it does not properly grip the shaft.

A very big thank you to the kind soul that posted that comment, as it saved me who knows how much time and money.

It's not the **** that is the problem!

The temp control stiffens up, and the **** cracks when you try to turn the control shaft. I have had the problem for a while.

Anyone know how to change out the control "valve?"
