AC in Split vent selection et al?

AC in Split vent selection et al?
My AC kicks on when i'm in the split vent position (floor and dash). I don't really mind it except when i just want ventilation only. Any ideas? Faulty switch maybe? Also, can I buy the OEM auto climate control module and plug in to the existing manual control panel?
