Angry Climate control unit replaced

Has anyone had to have their climate control unit replaced? I can't believe it's a $500 part available only from the dealer. $100 for the diagnostic, $500 for the part, $90 labor. Next time I'll know what it is but will only save the $190 for the labor and diagnostic. Sorry, just wanted to release some steam. I do most the work on my truck but this was a problem I needed some professional help on finding.

Thanks for listening!

get one from a salvage yard. It's gonna run you much much less.

Ouch! I bought one on ebay for less than 50 with the idea of converting mine to climate control, until I realized how extensive of a changeover it was. Sorry it worked out that way for you!
