F150 2001, Blend door problems

Hot air blow on and off when temperature control **** is on cold. Is this the blend door, motor, or broken shaft? If so, how do you get to it to fix it?

Read several of the many blend door threads.....

A well-covered issue already.

Mine did the same thing and it was the blend door, replacement was around 75 bucks Canadian and labour was around 150, I believe it took 3 hours and all the diagnostic blah blah blah. I didn't want to do it so the dealer did.

Thanks for the info. I have looked at the threads, some are for Expeditions and other F150 years. Do you think they are all similar? Is there an easier fix without taking the dash out? Once again thanks, I'm new to this forum stuff.
