Heater Inlet Hose Replacement - Help!!!

Hi, I bought a new inlet heater hose from advanced auto parts to hopefully fix the wierd squealing noise it makes at 2000 rpm. I've done my research and it seems that the flow restrictor goes bad in them. My question is how do I get the green clip off the heater inlet pipe? I got the hose off but the green clippy thing is still on there. The new hose comes with a new clip. I tried leaving the clip on and attaching the new hose using the old clip but it won't go on. The quick connect design of the aftermarket hose is a bit different so I guess I need to use the clip it comes with. So whats the secret to getting the clip off the heater pipe? Thanks for any help.

Problem solved, just had to play with the clip a while. It turns out that you bend upwards on the little tabs and it comes right off. Noise is gone also.
