Bad Bearings...

Hey guys my AC Compressors bearings are bad.. compressor itself works but since bearings are bad the truck down sound too good.. So naturally going to repair it. Anyone have any experience fixing this? If so whats the easiest way to get at it? repair the bearings on the truck or rip off the compressor? Its a '98 4x4 with a 4.6.

Also I happen to have a 91 Ranger with a 4.0 and I think they are the same compressors can anyone verify this? Cause that compressor is only 2 years old and the motor is junk so I could just use that IF I can!.

I suggest you double check which bearings have died. If you still have a/c then it could be just the clutch and thats replaceable with out recharging the system. If you need the replacement compressior check with rockauto.com for pricing.
