High Pressure Hose replacement

I have a leak in the high pressure hose at the port on my 94 F150. AC works fine but it is leaking oil and I assume refrigerant may be gone over time. Anyone replaced this hose? Tough job?
Where can you go to have the refrigerant discharged? Cost?

Thanks for the help.

is it the service port itself leaking. Could it be the pressure switch that is mounted near the service port.

It is the port itself. On a couple of occassions I have seen small bubbles coming out the side. I assume there is a tiny pinhole from corrosion or something else.

Prob. the toughest part is accessing the hose where it meets the compresor. Any a/c shop should be able to recover your freon for you. You will need to go back to them for an evac. after the system is fixed. Not all that complicated a job. Just make sure that if you tackle it that you get the hose back on. If you give up and leave the system open for a while( or drive with it open) you run the risk of getting a lot of dirt and such in it making it difficult to get clean and operating properly. I would get a couple of guess-timates from the shop to see just how much it would cost to have them do the whole thing. You will only really be saving labor on the hose r&r and a slight mark up on the hose itself. Then if it give you trouble later on ( a/c work can be like that) you have recourse. If you do the hose yourself and the system leaks they will prob. not stand behind it and you'll be doing it all over agian. Food for Thought.....
