Question Replace R134 With R12

99 F150 5.4 REPLACING A/C COMP. AND I WOULD LIKE TO PUT R12 BACK IN SYSTEM. DATA PLATE STATES HOW MANY OUNCES OF R134 SYSTEM REQUIRES. DO I USE SAME OUNCES OF R12 ?
WOULD LIKE TO USE THE R12 BECAUSE I HAVE A LARGE QTY. OF IT AND R12 PERFORMANCE IS BETTER THAN R134.

Can't do
1. system is not designed for it ( compressor, meter orfice,ETC.)
2. A direct violation of EPA mandate pertaining to systems after 1992
3. You'd get more out of the R-12 ($ wise) cruising swap meets and classic car shows.

texfordD has it exactly right. R12 performance is not that much greater that you would want to go to the expense to completely change out your system. You could very well sell the r12 to a shop and make enough to fix your a/c comp. without going out of pocket!

If you sell it be careful who you sell it to. They must carry the Federal EPA card. The fines and or jail time isn't worth it.
