Stock 6 disc head unit

The driver's door channel of my 17 year old stock 6 CD head unit doesn't work, can it be fixed or would I be better off replacing the head unit with another Ford 6 CD head unit? Bought a Kenwood a while back, took it back out because I didn't like how it constantly needed updates, that, and it was a single CD unit. I like the stock unit and I just spent $884 at Crutchfield having them wire it up, so I'm keeping it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Nevermind, instead of waiting for a reply, I went ahead and bought a new '07 to '10 head unit I found on eBay. Turns out, Ford engineers changed just enough so the '07 to '10 head unit won't work in my '05 truck. Ah well, off to eBay to find the right unit. Found a correct head unit, same dead driver's door speaker, so apparently my problem is with the wiring from the head unit to the amp or from the amp to the door speaker.
