2006 F150 King Ranch

Hopefully someone can help me. My 6 disc unit has stop playing CD's and three are stuck in there. Everytime I try and eject I can a ERR on the face of the unit. I have tried to unhook battery and then tried again. I have been to two stereo shops and they want 250 bucks!!! Anyone got any ideas? Thanks for your time and understanding in this matter.

I just did this on my 2007 lariat so it should be similar. Remove the radio from the dash, on the back near the top there are two small screws holding the top cover on, once you have these removed the top cover will come off, with gentle encouragement. Don’t lever up the back of the top, pull it up on all sides so it stays flat. Once you have it off plug in the radio and eject the disc’s as they try to eject you can insert your finger in to the center of the disc to help it along, you will have to eject them all to get the ones out below. Good luck.

Once you rescue your CDs, burn all CDs to USB .mp3 and replace your HU with a USB HU. You'll be MUCH happier in the long run.

I'm going to try this out, great idea. I have taken my CD player out and tore it apart unable to retrieve the disks. I wish I had thought of this!
