P.I.E circuit? (DIY)?

Just wanting to know if anyone has reverse engineered a PIE aux adapter or the like for the 2006 radio. I'm wanting to build a simple circuit to interface with the AUX button on the factory radio to a 3.5mm jack for mp3 player. 80 to 100 bucks for store bought adapter seems a little high to me.

My radio is single CD/AM/FM unit with AUX button on front.

Any help would be appreciated.

Kevin

the pie adapter is your best bet, it's what i'm using.

the adapter is also a preamp to boost the signal from your phone/mp3 to a usable range, if not you will not have good sound levels even with volume turned all the way up.

I had this system that was installed on my 2006 F150. See the link below.
Its just been sitting my garage. Used it for 4 months before I got rid of my truck.
I had it posted in the classified section on here, but, got no hits.
I think it is exactly what you are looking for. Very simple to install.
If you're interested let me know. Make me an offer
