Lightbulb adding ipod stock HU

right now ive been using a wireless fm transmitter that takes batteries. it works ok when it works.

i want to add aux input. is thier any way i can add it to stock 6 disk. there is like 3 unused harness's in back of HU

i was also contemplating adding a sound processor/eq like this one

http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...dio-PEQ10.html

i use the stock HU to send signal to 3 alpine amps. it looks like i could add this before amps and use this to add volts to signal, fine tune eq, and add aux in put all in one.

is this sound reasoning

also dosnt this take place of a LOC/ line level convertor. seems like a much better option as it boosts the signal and adds EQ and has option of AUX input

nobody aye?

cheers to a one sided thread.

think im gonna pull the trigger. my amps will sound better with a boosted signal rather then the speaker level . plus it gives me more fine tuning of the sound on the fly. and ill get my front/rear fader control back. as of now i got my front channels to a line level convertor then split to 2 amps. then the rear channel signal goes straight to mono amp, line level. so if i want more bass i just turn the fader to the rear. i dont think there is any difference between in EQ between using a LOC or just using the line level inputs of the amp.

with this setup ill have to use the line output convertor. wire the front channels of HU to LOC then RCA cable to EQ. then 3 RCA sets to the rear three amps. if that makes any cents. the rear speaker channel of HU will not be used. then i need a 3.5mm jack to RCA cable to hook up the AUX input

gonna mount it in my dash above the 4x4 shifter in that useless cubby hole. should look cool with the green lights

don't know if you have pulled the trigger on this yet - if you have the 6 cd with aux button then you can use a line adapter (i have a PIE {frd-04 aux} adapter) just plugs into the back of factory HU and provides a RCA input, i got a kit from supplier to change RCA into an in dash 1/8 plug included a male - male cord to plug in your MP3

yes i have sat but since i don't use it i removed the reciever and used my pie unit that i removed from my old truck(wrecked)

i assume thats a fm transmitter??

i dont have the AUX HU.
i got the EQ, still need the 3 rca cables to install. fits in perfect. should give my system a boost in performance. this way it saves my 12v plug from be ing used. less wires hangin. i already stealth hard wired my radar detector and gps.

ill post pics as soon as installed.

im wondering if i wire the front and rear channels together to the LOC will it sound better or will i just blow something out....
