Hey guys, just bought an '06 and I'm looking for a double din unit and not sure where to start looking. It doesn't need to be anything fancy with DVD or Navigation... just good quality and a hookup for my iPhone.. doesn't matter if the wire is hidden or not...
Any tips would be great

If you are looking for high-end quality, consider Pioneer DEH-80PRS. It is a single DIN fully loaded unit, dual (R+L) 16 band EQ, 5 volt preamp out. MSRP $350.
If you want something to integrate with the iPhone, consider Pioneer SPH-DA02 AppRadio. It is also MSRP $350. Double DIN with screen.
I just ordered Pioneer AVH-P3400BH. Double DIN, DVD, BlueTooth, HD Radio and Wireless Remote. It should be delivered today. I will start new thread will the details and install.

Crutchfield is the way to go. They include everything you could possibly need for the installation. Step-by-step instructions, the wiring harness, and even dash trim pieces.
I have an '07, and I have installed several different decks in it already. The first was a simple upgrade from the factory AM radio so that I could have FM, MP3, and an iPod connection. That lasted until I wanted Bluetooth because my state made it illegal to talk on the phone without a hands free device.
The most basic of units these days allows you to pair your cell phone, plays CDs that you burn yourself, plays MP3s from a USB and/or SD card, has auxiliary inputs for other audio devices, and provides some sort iPod hook up since iPods are so popular. HD & Satellite radio connections are sometimes included also. And you can get everything in a single DIN receiver, with new dash trim that gives you an extra cubby hole for storage.
I live in The City. Cars get broken into all the time. My biggest worry was someone smashing my auto glass, so I got the least expensive unit possible with the features that I wanted. Of course these days, just about every aftermarket deck features a removable face so that helps. And since price was a consideration, I was able to spend less than $100, get free shipping, and not pay tax. Currently, Cruthchfield has decks for as low as $54.99.
Extremely easy. All that you really have to do is connect the wires for the deck to the corresponding wires on the harness. Then it's "plug and play". Some guys like to solder the connections. Other guys will crimp the wires together. I get lazy and use twist nuts. Back when I was in junior high, we would simply twist the wires together and wrap them in electrical tape. But soldering and using heat shrink is probably the best way to do it.
