Sound man want $1200 to do a ipad fiberglass build WTH!

Im doing my own. I am using a clarion digital processor DVH940 and digital tuner DVH920. I have the Ipad output into the processor and then from there to Kenwood AMP. From there wired to my speakers. The tuner handles volume and EQ controls

This is seriously awesome.
It may be a stupid question, but could this possibly work in a 99? Or is it just too out of date.

As far as doing an install like SoundMan I don't see any reason why the age of the vehicle would matter. Now for using an iPad to control the heat/ac system if your system has wires at the ***** I don't see why with a little work it wouldn't be possible. Now, if your truck operates some of the controls via vacuum in place of electronic controls some slight conversion would be required first making it a bit more work... not that this wouldn't already be a bit of work lol....

Mines in the works as well. should have it done in a month or so. The work is actually easy, i dont think many people would attempt to follow a 'how to' because of all the plastic or fiberglass work involved.. but either way, i already started modifying the dash piece and i've been documenting it.

Soundman didnt change his factory AC in his truck.. the ipad is actually mounted on the AC control module.

It wouldnt work the same in a 99 because the thing that makes the system work in the video is the USB input, and the steering wheel controls with Sync. The only way for Soundman to change the source of the sound in his truck, he needs to hit the sync voice button and tell sync to turn on sirius, or am/fm.. In a 99, you would have to run a headunit with a built in usb port and then plug the ipad into it. So the ipad could be in the center of your dash, but u sill still need the headunit to change your source from CD, Radio, or ipad. Hopefully this makes some sense

I disagree, THIS is the perfect size. This is my top slider concept, push to open and push to close, all hinged. Ipad removes in seconds. The only top slider that looks permanent that anyone's ever seen!
