Buy a pioneer even a single din unit(half the height) will be a huge upgrade. Or a double din(same height). Going to cost you $200-$400 for something of good quality. You will get an ipod hook up and much better sound, volume and clarity.

You will just replace the dash piece, very easy to do.

I would go to a good quality local stereo shop tell them what you want as far as ipod controls on deck or a headphone jack and you use your ipod. See if you can find an alpine or a pioneer dealer. I would go with pioneer from my experience there older decks are the best and better then there newer ones(that's besides the point). Anything will be a HUGE improvement. I would recommend spending around $250 for the deck itself. Will get you one of good quality and then they can install it for you or if you are handy it's real easy to do.

I agree with the sound of the factory radio......it sucks. I also have a 2010 STX and I just replaced my system with a new Pioneer AVH-P4300 and love it. it is a huge improvement over the stock system even without adding an amp.
