So my final opinion on this unit is that I would have been better off working with a local name brand company. It was a pain in the a.. having to email someone in canada for technical support and I always had to wonder if I was going to be taken advantage of. The tuner is the worst I have come accross, I only get 2 FM stations of music that I listen to, compared to any other radio I have had getting 4-6. The digital TV is a real joke, I will have to make sure the shop actually plugged in the antenna, I only get 3 pbs channels and one is in spanish. It is a ATSC tuner, maybe that is defective, like my first head unit....all in all, my experience was not something I would reccommend to anyone else. If something seems too good to be true, it probably is...as in the low price.

 

Didnt the FCC change everything over to digital from analog for over the air TV? If so I would assume you need a digital tuner not the ATSC tuner and that is why your only picking up PBS.

 

I googled the receiver and it said this...ATSC tuner -In the US broadcast digital TV system, an ATSC receiver then decodes the TS and displays it on a TV. An ATSC (Advanced Television Systems Committee) tuner, ...so correct me if I am wrong, it seems to be the proper one??? I am going to see if there is a setting I have set wrong. It is funny the minimal user manuals that were supplied with this unit have very poor english translations...no money in the budget for someone that really has a grasp of the english language to review before they were printed!
The gentleman in Canada has been pretty responsive, but I am starting to feel like he is tired of my emails and questions - that is the responsibility he took on when he sold a product with no other customer support and lack of proper instructions! That is really the only issues I have with this unit, I still enjoy my 2 FM stations, I listen to Rush most of the day anyway, (AM) and Ipod. :o
