Sync usb line in skipping problem?
I tried searching this but couldnt find any info on it. Today I experienced some issues using the usb line in with my iphone 3gs.
First problem I had was the display showed all the correct info, song counter was moving meaning that the song was playing but I had no sound. I switched from usb to bluetooth and immediately had sound. When I switched it back to usb I lost sound again but the counter was still going. I unplugged it and plugged it back in a couple of times and it started playing again.
The biggest problem that I have is that when the usb is working or I should say when I have sound, every mp3 track I play has "skips" or like its losing signal for a split second and sounds kinda distorted when this happens. It does this about every 20 seconds or so, could be wrong on that but it cuts out quite frequently. I have absolutely no problems playing music through bluetooth but the sound quality is so much better with the usb. Any ideas whats causing these issues and how I can fix it? My truck has the sony system and is only 1 1/2 months old and has 4600 miles on it btw. Id appreciate any help

Yeah the phone is up to date but as for switching the phone to dock connector, I don't even know how to do that.. I've never had to do anything with the phone all I've ever had to do was switch to USB through the media menu/select source.
Sorry for large pictures im doing this on my iphone and dont have a app to edit pic size
Two other factors causing songs to skip I have found out is worn out usb cable and my download speed when downloading the songs. I live out in the sticks so it takes forever for my songs to download cause of the service and I noticed songs didnt skip anymore when I downloaded them when I went into town and was on 3g or a wifi.
Dock Connector issue say if your listing to your tunes on Bluetooth audio then decided to plug it in usb and then you select usb and no music comes out make sure your phone is on dock connector for usb or if your on usb and want to listen bluetooth it would be sync. That can be found in yout ipod app for iphone. Select ipod and you should see this when you connected to usb.
select the dock connector icon at the bottom then this screen should pop up

select the right one for which media source you are on and then I believe you hit ok on the steering wheel and music should play. Hope this helps you 2010FX2

I saw what you're talking about on selecting sources. That fixed that problem, guess I never payed any attention to it when the phone was plugged in. As for the skipping, that has been solved but Im not sure what did it. I replaced the cord, cleaned the phone connection and updated the phone again. I guess I shoulda tried it after each change I made instead of doing everything at once but main thing is it works properly now, so far at least. Thanks for your help!
