Arrow Help?

Ok ya I know hit me now "search tool"..... These might be simple questions or not but I really don't know. I dont know much about any of this so even going through all the other threads still does not make any sense or help. Anyways help a man out? When I bought the truck it had a sub and an amp in it, I have no clue what kind they are because there hidden. Other than the sub and amp its all stock. I barely listen to the radio at all, its always my Ipod. I have a Monster that plugs in to the 9V outlet but its static-y on any station. Also my stereo is not loud what so ever, when its all the way up you can still talk over it like its nothing.
-Ok, so what do you recomend? Any and all opinions good or bad. I just want something that will sound good with my ipod. I'd like a touch screen head unit with im guessing a USB cable for the Ipod. And will just that make it louder or will it blow the OEM speakers? do I need different speakers too? Oh and I don't need navigation and all that I'm only 16. And considering that I ain't got that much money either so I don't want to be spending that much so what do you got?

If you dont have a lot of money, id say stay away from a touch screen. You wont find too many decent ones for under $250-300. Are you needing to pay for installation too?

Pretty standard install price is $50 for a deck and $100 for an IDMV. Plan on $30-$40 in parts for the dash kit and wire harness.

On my last truck I had a Panasonic touch screen head unit that had an option output Ipod connection and the way it was wired was that the cable came from behind the unit and went into my glovebox and I could just plug my Ipod in and toss it in my glovebox and control everything from the unit. No static at all, speakers sounded great it was probably one of my favorite upgrades I did. Think I payed $345 shipped off ebay.

^ Ya something like that is what Im looking for except even $350 is kinda high- something like $250 is more like it, and I don't have to have a touch screen just would prefer it. I already have one of those AUX cords in my truck (previous guy put it in there) that comes from the stock head unit but I never use it because it plays it like a CD and you can't control the songs at all because its hard to go through 1,000 songs using only the SEEK button....

I pretty sure that there are some units that aren't touchscreen just like a regular deck that can be used the same way. I believe JVC makes one like that

if youve got $250 to spend, id take away $100 for Parts/Install. That leaves us with $150. I personally am partial to Pioneer. Do you need a CD player, or is Ipod control all you are looking for? Reason I ask is Best Buy has this deck over $100 off right now.

In that price range there is also a nice Alpine and the Sonys are half bad either. Id steer clear of the lower end Kenwoods.

You can get a good single din with usb for around 150-190.. Good budget speakers i would say Polks.. Im running polk DB571 all 4 with a sony 10inch sub. and a $100 jvc HU (selling the JVC want a touchscreen) and it sounds good IMHO.. Pioneer is great.. i would buy a pioneer HU over JVC but it was on my budget at my time.. my whole thing was speakers the HU just needed one for my ipod.. Right now im thinking of a pioneer avh-3200DVD.. if you want a touchscreen DD prob best bang for your buck.

And if you can buy off line.. alot cheaper.. useally.. my speakers i got for cheaper at ABC warehouse.

Why not just save up some more money and put in something you want, instead of spending $250 now and $500 later?
