To the OP, I'd wait and save for what you really want. If you're looking more for Ipod control, there really is nothing better to naviogate your Ipod with than a monitor with a large LCD screen on it. Single or double din headunits that don't have a fancy touch screen can be a bit complicated for you to use in terms of navigating through your music and may take a while to search if you have a long list of songs, artists, and albums (assuming you might want to choose your song instead of just shuffling everything). Personally, I have an Alpine IVa-W205. I don't like Alpine units but my wife got me this one some time ago, and I love how it navigates through all sorts of media; Ipod, UBS, MP3 CD, etc. Like Sundevil, I'm partial towards Pioneer. Not only do they have the best audio controls, but they are pretty user friendly.
If I were you, I'd save up some more money for something great, then check out a mobile electronics store, and play with some of the headunits. No matter what though, never let a salesman make the decision for you. Mess around with the HU's until you find what you're looking for. But like SunDevil said, set some money aside for installation and parts.

The newer single dins are just as easy as the touchscreens (other then the lower end kenwoods). Especially the pioneers with the toggle stick. They have a list button, which pulls up the main music menu of the ipod. Im VERY partial to the Kenwood KDC-945BT for a single din. I absolutely LOVE that thing.

I installed that HU in a golf cart some time ago, and it was a beast! Lower-end headunits aren't anywhere near as Ipod navigation friendly as a touch-screen unit. But you're right about the Pioneers, the 7-way helps a lot with toggling through lists as long as scrolling is done with the radial dial, and not pushing up and down like in some Pioneer models.

Ok if I was to get one for Christmas or something I have some questions.

Ok out of those first 5.....they all look like they pretty much have the same things except they are all different prices? How do you know if they are single or double din because the first two look like they are a single din that the screen pops up but I don't know. So whats the main difference of them because I might be able to work with that.
