Just installed my pioneer AVIC D3!!!

So I picked up a hardly used pioneer avic d3 navi unit(with east and west discs) off craigslist for $275!! Got my mounting kit and wiring plug from best buy for around $40,sat on my couch and did the parking brake hack (courtesy of avic411.com) and wired everything together while watching tv.I was kinda iffy on the parking brake mod because of my lack of experience but I just tested it out and everything works perfect!!! Its a really nice unit for the money you can pick one up for.I highly recomended it for anyone looking for a dvd/navi combo on a budget.I also ordered a license plate back up camera off ebay for $40 and a pioneer sattelite radio brain and I was gonna wait till they got here(another week) to install it all at one time but...I'm impatient as hell!!It is so easy to disasemble and install it really doesn't matter anyway.Once you get the trim panel off you have enough room inside the dash to climb in and crawl around if you wanted too,LOL!!!!
If you have any questions on the unit feel free to ask,I'm always eager to help a fellow member!!

Yeah,yeah,yeah,I know....I'm cleaning my interior later today,LOL!!!

You have steering wheel controls? Able to keep them functional?

Those are great head units man. I had one in my Lexus a few years back. Sold it with the car when I sold the car because it's six disc changer had the same disease fords does so I couldn't put the stock radio back in. I want another one for this truck but haven't done much looking yet.

I could buy a newer model, but I fear change lol...

I have the same unit, I really like it. Did you get the back up camera installed too? How was the image from the plate mount? I'm thinking of doing that over the effort and expense of a an emblem or handle factory mount camera.

How plug and play was it? Do you have SYNC and Steering controls still? Wire colors and locations woudl be a huge help.

Thanks in advance.

Good find, looks nice. What's on the right hand of the trim, near the screen (above the Dolby logo)? Looks like a nasty scratch.

Thinks it just the light reflection on that beveled edge

My parking brake hack has never worked correctly. Also can you put up a good picture of this $40 back up camera?
