Installed headunit, no lights.

I recently installed a sony head unit in my truck, now I have no dash lights. All the other lights work and the hu has illumination.
Is there a wire from the old wiring harness that needs to be connected to a power?
And yes I did check the fuses.

Sure you didn't blow a fuse? I don't know how many times I've heard people say they checked the fuses, only to find out they actually had blown one after checking a million other things, and then checking the fuses again.

disconnect any of the orange wires behind your new sony and see if that fixes your problem.

I'm sure I didn't blow a fuse, I checked them all and even replaced the one for dash lights just to make sure.
I'll disconnect the orange wires and see if that works. I didn't install it my friend did so I'm not really sure.
Thanks.

Well in that case, sundevil is probably right about the Illumination wire.

Now no matter what way I hook it up if I have dash lights they stay on constantly regardless of the headlight swtich or everything comes on as if the ignition if on accessory when the key isn't even in the ignition.
I'm so lost.
