I'm with stealth, it's the easy peezy stuff they're going to steal first. No one wants to steal 1/2 of something to buy another half to be able to get rid of it.

The jvc faceplates are boat anchors though.

To the OP, I'd worry more about boot time, although it looks like you already made your choice.

sounds like you have everything hooked up correctly. are you having problems with it working? below is the picture from pac's website to the pin the white wire needs to be connected to, it's pin 18. as for pictures i just loaded the picture i wanted on an sd card and selected sd. picture came up then there is a button to select it as a picture.

Yes its working just have to figure out how to program the stupid thing. it is version 3 right?
But i also did figure out the picture thing too.
So if i was wanting the video to run while driving or any other time without putting the parking break on would i just hook the wire to the parking break ground?

version 3 is correct, just follow the directions and it should work perfectly.
as for watching a video while driving is not advised you can't just hook it up to the ground. it can't be grounded when the unit turns on, won't work. you need to either have a switch you can flip or make a bypass using a relay which hooks up to the parking brake wire, the remote turn on lead and the ground. here's a video showing how.

How hard was the install? I am looking at getting this same HU but I don't want to spend an arm and a leg for labor. The reason I am asking is cause I am a student and I don't have a garage I can do it in, all I have is a parking lot at a dorm.

Either pay someone or find somewhere off campus.

Doing that in the parking lot is just begging for someone to break in and steal your stuff.

Define "arm and a leg"

It wasn't hard at all. Just needs some wire strippers, wire nuts (i used to clamp kind), Screw drivers and some dikes to cut the plastic tabs off the surround kit. real simple install took my and my father bout an hour or so.

I might be able to find somewhere off campus. When I say an arm and a leg, I don't want to pay like $150 to have it installed. I also have two brothers that have installed their own head units, one being a double din, so I can do it for free.

So me and two buddies could do it easily?

oh yes defiantly. The wiring harness i got told me what each color wire was and i just matched it up with the wiring harness included with the radio. and i ran the parking brake wire all the way to the parking brake and use electrical tape to hide it up under the steering wheel area.

Your stock radio should just have four screws when you take the face plate off. take the screws out, pull out the radio, unhook the stock wiring harness (mine had 3, one was the harness that the one you buy hooks into, and one was for the stock sub and amp which i plan to hook up this week with a new wiring harness, but not real sure what the other one was.) unhook the antenna cable, i wired the new wiring harness and the radio wiring harness before i put the HU into its place. I followed the color code that each diagram supplied by both products, hooked the USB cord into the HU and ran it into the glove box (may relocate in the future but it was convenient at the time) Put on the surround kit with a few screws, hooked the wiring harnesses together and screwed it in.

If not mistaken some people may disconnect the battery cables but i didnt and it worked fine.

That sounds pretty easy. How long did it take you over all to do it all? Thanks for explaining the whole process.
