2010 dash bezel? Pics?

I am about to buy a2010 fx4 and would like to install my own radio in it. I have found the bezel kits but my question is how do the after-market kits look in the nicer trucks? Are the kits paint-able? I would like to have it match the stock "matrix" look (vertical lines in random order remind me of matrix for some reason). Anyone have pics of an fx4 with after-market radio?

Hi,

When I did my '10 FX4, I took was looking to keep the stock matrix look, but could not find anything available to do that. I, like some others, painted the scosche kit gloss black, and I think it turned out great: Some photos:

I used a pioneer AVIC-Z110BT. There is also a metra kit, but it doesn't look as nice as it uses a mounting bracket which in my opinion looks terrible.

Thanks Kimo. If my current truck ever sells i am going to buy a new one. I sold my f-350 last week now the 150 needs to sell.

I have been looking at ways to keep my stock head unit and adding amps and such to it. I have used the line out converters before and they sounded ok but i will not be going that route again....

Hey kbonnel. Your setup looks great! I want to install an aftermarket HU in my 2010, but have a bunch of questions. Did you lose your Sync, sat radio, steering wheel controls? I really want to replace my HU but don't want to mess with my sync.

i put a pioneer avh-4200dvd with nav. in my 09 platinum and had to buy the interface for the steering wheel controlls and the sirrus moduels for the sat radio...as for the sync and the usb....the 4200 has its own usb and there is a bluetooth module you can add...i never used the sync before i changed the unit and have not tryed it after...with the SD card readers on some of these new heads i really never use my sirrus anymore (i have 1650 songs on 8 gig card) but its nice when you wanna catch a ballgame durring a road trip..mines not fx4 but heres a pic.......i mounted mine alittle recessed but may move it back out to flush with surround....

Hi,

I did not keep my sync, as the HU I used did all the functions of sync. I utilized the PAC adapter identified for my HU for the wheel controls. I wasn't able to keep SIRIUS, as it is a part of the SYNC I believe. I did get XM through the HU though. All of the steering wheel controls worked, except for the voice control / phone buttons, which are SYNC buttons. I know you can get a PAC module for SYNC and utilize AUX inputs on an aftermarket HU. There were some members who did do this.
