2009 F150 Head Unit??????

Please bear with me as I am a newbie to head unit upgrades. I currently have a 2009 F150 XLT with the XTR package. My head unit is just a basic standard system non sync. I am looking at upgrading it to a Kenwood DNX-9140 and installing a back up camera as well. I am sorry now that I never ordered the nav/synce system at first , but oh well thats in the past. I have read evey post on here but there are no posts showing any pics or identifying the procedure to do this replacement for f150 2009. I have however check the metra sight and scocshe web sights for the proper dash kits but when I try and find the proper wirng harness for the new head unit I get the above mention sights identifying 3 different harnesses for my 2009. Does anyone out there know the correct radio harness I should order or have pics of the trucks radio harness that I have to buy the matching adapter harness for. Al help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

also removing the factory unit does it affect the display like tempurature and stuff? is there a harnes that will still allow that information and the back up sensor beeps and the sat radeo interface as well???

Dont be sad for not ordering the stock system. The aftermarkets can be had with more features for less money.

The Wiring harness you need is the XSVI-5520-NAV.

A member on here, i believe Sopher is his name, put an Avic Z110 in his NBS.

There is no harness to retain your stock sat radio with an aftermarket deck. IF you want carbon fiber, you'd probably have to wrap a black dash kit in carbon fiber yourself.

Thank you. is the factory sat antena a standard connector? am i able to use the existing antena? for sat radio.

when the factory deck is pulled does the display still work like for compass and temp readings? also is there a way to interface the rear back up aid beeps to a aftermarket system?

The sat antenna should be able to be reused, but ive never seen it. There are some that are plug and play, some that you have to mod, and some that dont work.

I havent pulled the radio yet on the 09's. Is the temp/compass display seperate from the radio?

well if they havent changed the plug on the sat antenna from the 04-08 on the 09s and up, then yeah you can easily reuse it for xm or sirius. i reused mine for xm before and for sirius in my friends 06. just had to remove the yellow plastic clip.

ive been waiting on an 09 and up f150 to come in so i can tear it apart and see what ford did differently. i have a dash kit sitting on a peg hook waiting to be installed lol
