Head unit recommendations,,bring it!

Hitting up the stores and looking for my new system. My requirements for head unit:

1) CD-R/RW
2) DVD-R/RW (for my "vids" I have)
3) 5.8 or 7" screen.

Don't need navigation. Brand doesn't concern me, but I don't want a thousand page manual just to learn the darn thing. One store I've been to wants to sell me the Pioneer 3100. I see DivX format, but no DVD-R/RW.

Checking the threads now. Tnx guys.

That's a nice unit, if only I could get red illumination.

Many units now offer changing illumination colors. The Kenwoods are one of them.

I love my JVC KW-AVX-810. Everything I wanted in a HU. It's obsolete now, but the 820 is good also.

Pioneer or Kenwood. DDX 514 and AVH-P3100 are 5.8's, the AVH-P4100 is 7 inch.

Thnx for the replies guys. If all goes well, I will have a new set up in the truck within a couple months. Only a few hundred left to save. Pioneer subs, amps, Focal speakers in the doors and the head unit. We'll get it figured out.

i would get the JVC KW-AVX820 ... I have the 800... i bought my boy the pioneer..He wishes i would of bought one like mine..the pioneer has a crappy 3 band eq..and bunch of other crappy options compard to the jvc.. the JVC has 5 volts outs to your amp..it is just so much easyer to run and set.. and sounds better.. i don't like most JVC stuff..but there DVD head unit is hard to beat.... which Focal components are you getting ? i have the Focal KRX2's and love them.. i use to have some infinitys.. then some PPI's.. the Focals are unreal how good they sound. well worth it
