Depending on the headunit, you can just ground the wire. Other headunits require a more complex way of bypassing the video lock. For anyone who has a headunit that can't simply be grounded (for example I have an Alpine IVA-W205 and I used to have an older Dual S-din 7" DVD player) you'd have to look into a factory reset code or get a module that toggles the foot and parking brake in the correct sequence for video activation.

My Alpine wouldn't output a video signal unless the video was engaged "properly" so when I had my neices and nephews in the back seat, they couldn't see anything. I purchased a PAC-TR7 bypass module and connected it to the right wires and presto! Video works all the time. No need for switches, it just works. When driving and they're watching in the back seat, I just switch the video over to my navigation because in all honesty, driving with a DVD is distractive. When I had my old Dual headunit, I researched online and found there was a manufacturer's reset code that allowed me to reset the unit and remove the video bypass. I only did it to play DVD music videos on the Las Vegas Strip, lol.

But yeah with your Kenwood, you should be able to just ground it. For anyone else who's inquiring, if you can't just ground the parking brake, check out getting the PAC-TR7. Be warned though, watching video while driving is illegal for a reason. I'll be the first to admit that it does take my attention away form the road, where it belongs.
