so i got a new deck.. the pioneer premier DEH-510UB with the HD tuner, added another set of the MTX Thunder 5x7s to the rear doors.

my main question is, i thought i heard or read somewhere that said you could control your ipod from the ipod itself or the deck. when i connect my ipod which is a 2nd gen touch all i get is an accessory added screen. i can not get off that screen at all. is there a setting on the ipod i have to change?

also if anyone is in the austin area and has HD radio, does it like to cut in and out all the time in certain areas? if must tbe the area i live in. i can get it to come in perfect and then move 10ft and it goes out. rather annoying.

 

It is possible to control from either one or the other but not both.

 

thats what i thought but how do you set it up to control it from the ipod?

 

it is possible....
late on the post but all you have to do is hold down the shuffle button on the HU. Works like a charm, as ipod control and you can also have freedom to switch songs with the HU.
