New Member-audio equipment advice?

I recently purchased a 2006 F150 FX4 Supercrew and was wanting
to upgrade the factory audio system. I am limited on my budget and will need
to do it over time. I was wondering whether I should purchase a new head unit first or replace the speakers? Which would you all do first?

This F150online site is great and I value the opinions of the members.

Thanks

I'd do a new head unit first. Aftermarket head units send a much cleaner signal and more wattage to your speakers and will make your stock speakers sound a lot better.

Then when you want to upgrade speakers, run them off H/U power. If you want you can eventually amp them on down the road to bring out their full potential.
