Relay Needed...?

I have heard if you have more than one amp that your HU might not be able to put out enough signal to turn your components (amps, cap, etc.) on. I ordered a 1200 watt mono and a 440 watt 4-channel. Should I go ahead and get a relay or is it not that big a deal? And if I don't get the relay how will I know if I need one?

What head unit do you have? It wouldn't hurt to have the added security to know you are not asking too much out of the remote turn-on wire. Wiring the relay is easy enough.
