stock head unit

ok i have a 2000 f150 with the single disc cd player. i was going threw the functions and came across an option in the RDS button and it said traffic. you can only turn it on and off. also there was really nothing about it in the book. just wondering what it does.

Rds

RDS gives you the radio station info, songs, ect...

If you select the Traffic mode, it will search for a station broadcasting the traffic report at that moment. Works about 1/4 of the time.

How does one activate RDS? I just bought a 2000 F150 and the stock head unit has an RDS button. The owner's manual states that in order to turn on RDS, I need to press and hold the RDS button for 5 seconds. The display says "RDS OFF" but does not change to "ON." Any ideas?

press the rds button till it shows rds off then push up on the arrows. welcome to the forum:santa:
