jsut stopped at the local audio shop to replace my factory radio in my truck. he gave me a price of 180 to have a pioneer 2000 headunit istalled.110 for the cd player 40 for install and 30 for the dashkit and wiring harness.does that sound about right
Go check out crutchfield. You can get a better unit and the install kit and directions for free for a lower price. It takes less than 30 minutes to install. Anything 129.99 and higher comes with the oem adapter plug, directions specific to your vehicle, and face plate.

I wouldnt remcommend doing it yourself if you have no experience with electrical or taking the dash apart. It is a very simple process, but its also very easy to mess something up. If the shop has insurance and your willing to pay the 40 bucks, then go ahead and do it. Better 40 dollars then a 4000 dollar wire fire.
Do it yourself. Look for a deal on Crutchfield. They usually include install gear and include install info. Check techbargains.com for discount codes and deals for crutchfield. It's easy if you can read plus you can learn a little about your truck.
