Audiophile dimming & speaker help

I have a 2005 F150 Lariat Super Cab that came with a AM/FM single disc,
5L3T-18C869-AD .
I bought a AM/FM 6 disc MP/3 Audiophile with sub out and old style antenna, 7F9T-18C815-BA
and a factory sub 4L3T-18C804-BB.
Pulled out the original, put these in, wiring was all there. Seems to work good but radio is in dim mode and does not respond to the headlight switch or dimming control.
The guy I got it from(ebay of course) says a pin needs changed on the plug or it needs reprogrammed. When I bought it, I told him what it was going into and he said it was plug and play. Well it does plug and play but no dimming control and now I'm not sure if it is doing all it should.
Any one know what the 7F9T-18C815-BA came from?
Any one fix this dimming problem on their truck?

I would also like to upgrade the factory speakers. I only have 4 speakers(one in each door) and no tweeters in the front doors.
So I'm running the Audiophile on 4 speakers and the sub.
Can any one tell me what aftermarket speaker fits in the factory spot for each, and how many total there is.
I have been told there are, 6 plus the sub, and 8 plus the sub.

Thanks, Joe

Factory audiophile is 6 + the sub. tweeters and mid drivers in the front doors and full range (wizzer cones) in the rear door, plus the sub..

What you bought is an obsolete Delphi Audiophile head unit for a 2007 Freestyle!

F-150 head units are plug-n-play. Passenger car head units are programmable and are wired slightly different. Personally, it's not worth the trouble to get it to work. I'd go look for an F-150 Audiophile head unit.

5L3T-18C815-JG
5L3T-18C815-JH

6L3T-18C815-JE

The 2007's will require an adapter as they are not backwards compatible:

7L3T-18C815-DG
7L3T-18C815-JA
7L3T-18K931-BC

Factory speakers are 6X8 (5X7 will also fit). Front doors have components: a 6X8 woofer and a seperate tweeter. Rear doors have 6X8 midrange.

Just Curious

Did you ever get that 07 HU to work on your 06? Was it just the antenna adapter you needed? Does everyhitng work on it like the illumination, speed control and the steering controls? Sorry to be a pest but I'm about to pull the trigger on an 07 HU for my 06 as well. Don't want to waste the money on something that won't work.

Thanks!

Blake
