F-150 Deck

So I am interested in a deck for my 2002 F150 and there are way too many available, that has left me lost not knowing which is good and which isn't. All I am looking for is a deck that I can put all my songs on from my computer and then listen to it on the deck. I was thinking about a USB key but I rather not have a honkin key hanging out of it. Also, I am not really looking to drive around with the tunes cranked, just something better then the Stock AM/FM tape deck.

So I was wondering, what your thought are on good decks and what types have worked for you or what I should stay away from.

Thanks For your help,
Carl

You could get a pioneer then add in the CDUB100 to add in the USB, or get the 6900 or the 4000UB with the USB built in through the back that way you can run your plug anywhere that is convenient...like the glovebox

all in all just remember not to cheap out, you get what you pay for

With a USB drive poking out of the head unit, it's just an accident waiting to happen. One move of the hand and it's knocked out flung across the to the passenger side floor, or you smack it and bend the whole shi-bang. And then there's all the cables laying around to plug your ipod into the head unit and 12VDC power. Sorry, it just looks like A$$.

I just won't install USB only units for my customers. I usually steer them towards a head unit that takes SD cards. Something like the Clarion DFZ675MC fits in nicely in most trucks. Gives you an SD MP3 input. The Clarion also has a built in memory module (about 512MB depending on production date) which allows you to download music from CD or SD into the head unit's memory. Sound quality is excellent, and you can choose from several different colors for the display and backlighting (to match your paint or interior). Pretty slick set up for a reasonable price. It's just one of many SD units available.

The 6900 pioneer's USB and the CDUB100 USB cables are all able to be concealed, you could run the usb adapter to the glove box or an unused tray, hell even build a USB port to make it extra clean. and as far as the IPOD connectors lying in a mess on the dash, you could get the rear adapters for various stereo companies so you can run the wires in the back too.. which is 1 reason I favor Pioneer, it has an arsenal of accessories/options you can get to get the cleanest setup for your rig
